David Donnellan closed out an amazing career by being named the MVP of the
2008 WIAA State Tournament. "Double-D" was one of the co-captains for the
undefeated 2007-08 State Championship team. He was named 1st Team All-Big Rivers
Conference as a senior and 2nd Team All-BRC as a junior. Donnellan closed out his career as the highest scoring
defenseman in Old Abe history and was in the top 20 on the Abes' all-time scoring list when he graduated. He was
named to the All-State Team in both 2006-07 and 2007-08.
David played two years in the Junior ranks. He played one semester of 2010-11 with Western Michigan. "Donny" then transferred to UW-Eau Claire and was a key part of the Blugolds team that captured the school's first NCAA Championship at Lake Placid, New York, in 2013. He closed out his college career on the team that won the 2014 WIAC Title. David ended his college career with 48 points in 3 seasons.
