Sam was a "go-to" forward for Memorial. He scored his first varsity goal as a freshman against Eau Claire North and also notched three assists. Sam became one of the best "power" forwards in the BRC. His hat trick in the WIAA Sectional Championship Game against Chippewa Falls made him the 21st player in school history to score 20 goals in a season.
Sam made the Minot Minotauros of the NAHL this fall, but after playing two games, he is no longer on the active roster.
