Dave Hendel, one of three brothers to play for Memorial, played three varsity seasons. In his junior year, the Abes won the Big Rivers Conference title and advanced to the WIAA State Tournament, but lost in the opening round. They advanced to State by winning back-to-back double-overtime games. In the first one, Hendel assisted on Bryan Myers game-winning goal.
