Matthew
is among the Top 10 scorers in school history. He developed a
knack for scoring
"big" goals in key games. He moved up to the Abes' varsity in his
freshman year
and got his first goal on January 6th, 2009 against Eau Claire North.
In his sophomore
season, he scored one of the team's biggest goals of the year, a
double-overtime game
winner against #1-ranked Wausau West in the Christmas tournament
in
Madison. He did it again in his junior year, scoring the game-winner in
the 3rd period at Wausau. As a senior, Matthew was the Abes' leading
goal-scorer. He also was an all-Big Rivers Conference quarterback for
Memorial's football team. He is now attending UW-Eau Claire and playing football.
