DARRYLL "PORKY" MADSON

HEAD COACH - EAU CLAIRE NORTH (1975-1977)
Darryll "Porky" Madson was a pioneer in Eau Claire hockey. "Porky" played for the first varsity team at Eau Claire High in 1956-57. He scored the first two goals for the Abes against Stevens Point on January 30th, 1957. "Porky" also played for the Chippewa Falls Chiefs and the Eau Claire Rockets traveling teams in the mid-50's. He was an assistant football coach at Tomahawk in 1964-65 and coached junior high basketball in Menasha from 1965 to 1967. He coached junior high football and basketball in Chippewa Falls from 1968 through 1971. Madson then moved back to his hometown and supervised intramural football and basketball at De Long Junior High. He coached Squirt hockey and then coached the first two varsity hockey teams at North. His brother, Dale "Moose" Madson, assisted.
