Numbers don't begin to tell the story of Keith "Buck" Paulsen. He was another in the long line of outstanding defensemen to play for the Huskies, but his main contributions were the type that don't show up on the scoresheet. Keith always seemed to know where the puck was going to be. Despite his stature, he was able to stop opposing forwards from getting to the net. He was an outstanding passer. He was named the 1996 Outstanding Male Athlete at North High School.
Keith played for the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds from 1997-2000, earning honorable mention all-WIAC honors in 1998 and 2000.

After graduating from UW-EC in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, Keith served as an assistant coach at his alma mater for three seasons (2000-03). Then in 2003, he accepted a position as head coach at Rice Lake High School. His 2008-09 team became the first Rice Lake team in nearly 30 years to advance to the WIAA State Tournament. They made it to the Final Four before losing to Fond du Lac. In July of this year, he accepted a position as assistant coach of the Sioux City Musketeers.
