Terry Schmit was Eau Claire North's first hockey superstar. He possessed excellent speed and an accurate shot. (The picture below shows Terry scoring on a backhand from an almost impossible angle.) His 29 goals in his senior year are still the 3rd-most in a season by a Husky. And after four decades, and despite the fact that he played only two varsity seasons, Schmit is still in the Top 20 career scoring leaders at North. Schmit, with his linemates, Mike Spears and Jim Cleasby, combined for 125 goals and 193 points in their two seasons. The 125 goals represented 80% of their club's offensive output.
