Bart Steffen stepped right in as a freshman and played a part in Memorial's drive to the WIAA State Tournament. As a sophomore, he was second on the team in scoring. As a senior, he was named 1st Team All-BRC. Bart has served as a youth coach in recent years. In 2006-07, he was named co-head coach of the first-ever girls' varsity hockey team in Eau Claire. The Eau Claire/Altoona Stars posted a 12-9-1 record in their inaugural season. He also served several years as an assistant coach for the Abes' boys' team.
