Bob Thorp played on the first two North High teams to make it to the WIAA State Tournament. He backed up Rod Brehm in 1990-91 and was the starter in 1992-93. He closed out his career with back-to-back tournament shutouts versus Menomonie and Eau Claire Memorial to propel the Huskies to State. Then he beat Hudson, 6-1 in the Quarterfinals at Madison before losing in overtime to Antigo in the Semifinals. Thorp went on to play college hockey for UW-Eau Claire from 1993-97, earning All-NCHA Honorable Mention honors in 1994-95.
Bob has gone on to become a highly respected assistant high school and college coach. He also owns and operates Thorp Landscaping.
