BLOSSUM BUNN.  Female mole of Mossflower.   Friend of Daphne Dillworthy.  Taught Dotti molespeak.  Distant relative of Rogg and Gurth Longladle. (BT)

BLUESTRIPE THE WILD.  Ancient badger lord of Salamandastron, mummified and entombed in the Mountain's secret chamber.  Ruled sometime before Lord Stonepaw.  (BT)

BOBWEAVE.  Hare.  Twin brother of Southpaw, grandson of Stiffener Medick.  Lived in Buck Bigbones' encampment for several years.   (BT)

BRAMWIL.  The oldest hare in Salamandastron, he is frail and forgetful.  Father of Windcoat.  (BT)

BROCKTREE.  Son of Stonepaw, father of Boar, grandfather of Bella, great-grandfather of Sunflash.  Badger Lord of Salamandastron and founder of the Long Patrol.  His weapon of choice was a broadsword.  His father left to rule Salamandastron when Brocktree was young, just as Brocktree was called to the Mountain as Ungatt Trunn attacked.  He later shared leadership over Salamandastron with Boar for several years before his death.  He was entombed in a secret chamber in Salamandastron.  (BT; Mentioned in MF, OR, SN)

BROGALAW.  "Brog" is a male sea otter, the skipper of a holt on the coast near Salamandastron.  Son of Frutch. (BT)

BUCKO BIGBONES, KING.  Large male mountain hare.   "The Wild March Hare of the North."  He was driven from his home by Trunn's Horde and set up an encampment in Mossflower where he ruled as "King."  His many talents include scoffing, wrestling and bragging.  He wears a broad belt decorated with colored stones, medallions, and a gold circlet with laurel leaves for a crown. BUNGWORTHY.  Male hare of Salamandastron.   Killed in an early battle with the Horde of Ungatt Trunn. (BT)

BURKLE.  Dibbun mole in the Longladle family group in Mossflower.  (BT)

BYLE.  Male stoat Captain in Ungatt Trunn's Horde.   Trunn let him be killed by squirrels as a diversion during the final battle at Salamandastron.  (BT)

CETERULER THE JUST.  Also called Ceteruler the Wise.  An ancient badger lord of Salamandastron, mummified and entombed within the Mountain's secret chamber.  Ruled sometime before Lord Stonepaw.  (MF, OR, BT)

CLUBB, "GRANFER."  Old male mole of Mossflower living in the Longladle family group.  Presumably the husband of "Granma" Dumbrel.  (BT)

DOOMEYE.  Male searat, brother of Ripfang.  He is a master marksman with a bow and arrows.  He and Ripfang signed on with Ungatt Trunn's Horde and Salamandastron and quickly was promoted to the rank of captain.   Was killed by Ruff while trying to assassinate Brocktree.  (BT)

DOTTI.  Full name is Dorothea Duckfontein Dillworthy.  Daughter of Daphne and Cramsy, niece of Septimus and Blench.  This hare is a self-described "fatal beauty" who likes to believe she can sing, although her companions might argue that point.  She also plays the harecordion.   She met Brocktree while both were travelling to Salamandastron, where she later became the very first Long Patrol General. DRIGG SLOPMOUTH.  Father of a family of thirteen stoats, a band of lazy thieves who rob travelers in north-east Mossflower.  (BT)

DRUCCO SPIKEDIGGLE, BARON.  Large male hedgehog.   Husband of Mirklewort, father of Skittles.  Leader of a hedgehog tribe called the Rabble.  Sticks grass and leaves to his quills to make himself look bigger and also for camouflage.  Weapon of choice is the hatchet.  (BT)

DRULL.  Male rat.  Captain in Ungatt Trunn's horde.  (BT)

DUMBREL, "GRANMA."  Old female mole of Mossflower in the Longladle family group.  Presumably the wife of "Granfer" Clubb.  (BT)

DURVY.  Male sea otter in Brogalaw's holt.   (BT)

ERMY.  Fat female weasel in Mossflower in a robber band with three other weasels.  (BT)

FERGUN.  Young sea otter in Brogalaw's holt.   (BT)

FLEETSCUT.  Old male hare of Salamandastron.   An old friend and colleague of Stonepaw.  He escaped from Salamandastron early in the conflict with Ungatt Trunn and traveled with Jukka and Brocktree for awhile before returning to the Mountain.  Despite long animosity toward Jukka, the two died together as friends in a skirmish with Trunn's forces in the catacombs beneath Salamandastron.  (BT)

FRAGORL, GRAND.  A female ferret in the inner circle of Ungatt Trunn's Horde.  She wears a large robe and a nose ring, and dyes her fur blue.  She deserted from the Horde, and her whereabouts are unknown.  (BT)

FRAUL.  Somber-looking male stoat.  Captain in Trunn's Horde.  He was demoted after failing to capture Stonepaw alive, and was killed by spider crabs. (BT)

FRUTCH.  Female sea otter.  Mother of Brogalaw. (BT)

FURRIB.  Shrew in Log-a-Log Grenn's tribe.   (BT)

GRASSUM.  Hedgehog.  Brother of Reedum.   Helped save Skittles when he was lost in Mossflower Woods. (BT)

GRENN.  Male shrew.  Log-a-Log of the Guosim.   (BT)

GRINAK.  Male rat in Ungatt Trunn's Horde.   Killed by Trunn for losing a skirmish to Salamandastron hares.  (BT)

GRODDIL.  Malformed silver fox serving as High Magician to Ungatt Trunn.  Wears reading glasses and has the powers of a seer.   One of only two foxes in Trunn's Horde.  His family was killed by Trunn, which was why he refused to save the wildcat from drowning after the final battle at Salamandastron.  After that, he left and was never seen near Mossflower again.   (BT)

GROOD.  Male squirrel in Jukka's tribe who often gets scolded for nasty language.  (BT)

GUOSIM.  Guerilla Union of Shrews in Mossflower.

GURTH LONGLADLE.  Male mole of Mossflower.   Son of Rogg.  Distantly related to Blossum Bunn.  Champion wrestler.   Accompanied Dotti and Brocktree to Salamandastron. (BT)

JUKKA THE SLING.  An old-fashioned squirrel chieftain of a tribe of 62 squirrels.  She is cranky and argumentative, especially toward Fleetscut, but the two eventually die as friends in a skirmish in the catacombs beneath Salamandastron.  (BT)

KARANGOOL.  The only fox in Ungatt Trunn's horde besides Groddil.   Captain in Chief of Trunn's armada.  He was killed by Bucko Bigbones in vengeance for killing Bucko's family in the Northern Mountains.    (BT)

KONUL.  Cheeky ottermaid in Brogalaw's holt.   (BT)

KUBBA.  Large, deep-voiced male Guosim shrew.   (BT)

LITTLEBOB HARE.  Jump-rope rhyme learned by leverets at Salamandastron that also contained information about a secret passage out of the catacombs beneath the Mountain.  (BT)

LONGLADLE.  Mole family in Mossflower including Rogg and Gurth.  (BT)

MELANIUS.  Young female badger.  Daughter of Lord Russano and Lady Rosalaun of Salamandastron.  Three seasons older than her brother Snowstripe.  (BT)

MIREFLECK.  Female rat in the Blue Horde of Ungatt Trunn.  One of the Horde's most respected captains, she was nevertheless demoted after failing to capture Stonepaw alive.  Killed by Doomeye.  (BT)

MIRKLEWORT SPIKEDIGGLE.  Female hedgehog.   Wife of Ducco, mother of Skittles.  Brazen and loud-mouthed but kindhearted.   (BT)

ROGG LONGLADLE.  Mole of Mossflower.  Father of Gurth.  Distantly related to Blossum Bunn.  Wears an embroidered green smock and a mushroom-shaped cap with an orange feather in it.  Often seen carrying a ladle. (BT)

ROSALAUN.  Badger Lady of Salamandastron.   Wife of Russano, mother of Snowstripe and Melanius.  (BT)

RUFFGAR BROOKBACK.  "Ruff" was a lone male otter in Mossflower until he met Dotti and traveled with her and Brocktree to Salamandastron, where he joined Brog's holt.  He is fond of his grandmother, who used to wrestle with him!  (BT)

RULANGO.  Mute heron living with Brogalaw's holt.   Likes to have his neck stroked.  (BT)

RURO.  Female squirrel medic in Jukka's tribe.   Took over as chieftain after Jukka's death at Salamandastron.  (BT)

SKITTLES.  Hedgehog.  Full name is Skittle Burrtrump Spikediggle.  Young son of Drucco and Mirklewort.  Wandered off and got lost in Mossflower Woods, but was found by Grassum and Reedum, and later Dotti and Brocktree helped to reunite him with his parents. (BT)

SNOWSTRIPE.  Badger.  Son of Lord Russano and Lady Rosalaun of Salamandastron.  Three seasons younger than his sister Melanius.  (BT)

SOUTHPAW.  Hare.  Twin brother of Bobweave, grandson of Stiffener Medick.  Lived in Bucko Bigbones' encampment for several years.  (BT)

SPEARLADY GORSE.  Lady badger ruler of Salamandastron at some time prior to Lord Stonepaw.  Mummified and entombed in the secret chamber in the Mountain.  (MF, OR, BT)

STIFFENER MEDICK.  Old boxing hare of Salamandastron.  Grandfather of Southpaw and Bobweave.  (BT)

STONEPAW.  Badger Lord of Salamandastron.  Father of Brocktree.  He died defending his hares from the Horde of Ungatt Trunn in the catacombs beneath Salamandastron and is entombed in a bottomless pool.  He had ruled the Mountain longer than any other badger lord to date.  (BT)

STONEPAW'S STALWARTS.  A nickname for the fighting hares serving at Salamandastron under Lord Stonepaw, prior to the founding of the Long Patrol.  (BT)

TORLEEP.  Male hare of Salamandastron.  Wears a monocle.  Held captive by Ungatt Trunn but was later rescued. (BT)

TROBEE.  Old male hare of Salamandastron.   Held captive by Ungatt Trunn but was later rescued. (BT)

TRUBBLE.  Troublesome young mole in the Longladle family group with a "voice like a foghorn." (BT)

U

UDARA GROUNDSLAY.  Male, flightless, short-eared owl.    Wise, fierce and territorial.  (BT)

UNGATT TRUNN.  This male wildcat's titles include "Ruler of the Earth," "The Fearsome Beast," and "The Earth Shaker."  Son of Highland King Mortspear, older brother of Verdauga Greeneyes, uncle of Tsarmina and Gingervere.  He keeps pet spiders.  His weapon of choice is a trident.  He avoids fancy dress and wears plain chainmail.  His Horde attacked and briefly conquered Salamandastron, before Brocktree arrived and challenged him to face-to-face combat.  The Badger paralyzed Trunn and cast him into the sea, where he later drowned after Groddil refused aid.  (BT)

WILLOWAY, NURSE.  Female hare of Salamandastron who took care of the leverets in addition to administering bad-smelling herbal tonics and physics.  She passed on long before Lord Brocktree arrived at Salamandastron, but she was remembered by Bramwil and Stonepaw.  (BT)

WINDCOAT.  Full name Windcoat Bramwil Lepus II.   Salamandastron hare who later spent time at Bucko Bigbones' encampment.  Son of Bramwil.  As a child at Salamandastron, he got the nickname "Dribbler" due to a runny nose.  (BT)
